PD Fire Protection aims to provide cost effective and quality assured passive fire protection, safely utilising the most up to date products available.

Fire not only damages property, it can also kill. PD Fire Protection has many years experience in design and installation of high quality fire protection systems covering all aspects of protection from structural steel through to fire compartmentation. Fire protection should never be compromised as the results can be catastrophic – we take it very seriously.

As well as being one of the principal fire stopping contractors in the country PD Fire Protection offers an extensive range of structural fire protection products, including all types of board and intumescent paint, to meet the needs of designers, specifiers and contractors.

We offer a commitment to provide an efficient and cost-effective means of meeting Building Regulations requirements to protect both refurbished and new, commercial and industrial buildings. The professionalism and experience of our staff, from office personnel through to our fully trained installers, enable us to offer complete guarantees on fire protection installations throughout the country.

SAFETY
Safety is at the core of all our production processes with no work undertaken until a full job-specific method statement and risk assessment has been produced and approved. Independent safety consultants are employed to audit all stages of our production process on site.

FIRE COMPARTMENTATION
With ever more complex building service requirements, fire compartmentation is becoming an increasingly complicated area. We are able to provide technical and problem-solving expertise to our clients for upgrading existing buildings. We will survey existing buildings, on a free of charge basis, to identify possible problems.

We have worked with a number of clients in sensitive environments (Hospitals, Schools, Major Retail Developments and Military Establishments etc) to provide them with a fully guaranteed compartmentation scheme. We supply and install specialist fire stopping products including fire batts and coatings, fire mortars, fire curtains, intumescent mastics and seals for PVC pipes. All works are fully inspected upon completion.

We would welcome the opportunity to tender for any Fire Protection or other associated works on current and future projects.
We would also be pleased to 'partner' with either main contractors or M&E subcontractors on any project; for example where fire stopping is required after the installation of mechanical and electrical services.

This is done by fire stopping all service openings and construction gaps and voids within a designated fire compartment. The fire is contained by creating fire resistant breaks throughout the building.

Fire Protection
Typically used to protect the steel structure of a building from fire this is especially important as once its integrity is compromised the buildings stability is at risk of collapse.

Board Systems
Rigid Gypsum Based Boards /Mineral Fibre Based Boards all of which are used to encase the structural steel thus giving a protective layer of board thus maintaining the structural integrity and stability for given periods (see product data for details).

Reactive Coatings
Intumescent paint thin film coatings applied (normally spray applied) to structural steel columns and beams that react to heat and expand to give a protective layer again to maintain the structural integrity and stability.

Fire Stopping
Typically used in buildings to prevent the spread of a fire from compartment to compartment horizontally (walls) and vertically (floors)

This is done by fire stopping all service openings and construction gaps and voids within a designated fire compartment.

The fire is contained by creating fire resistant breaks throughout the building.

Fire barriers are a construction element generally fitted to form fire separation within concealed space locations e.g. above suspended ceilings, under raised access floors, cavity walls and cladding and are provided to restrict the spread of fire and smoke within such a space. By the very nature of these barriers being concealed and thus not visible special attention is required to make sure the installation is robust..
